Congratulations Ahalya! 12/17/13
Congratulations to Ahayla Lettenberger who represented Team USA at the Can-Am Paraswimming Championships in Alberta, CA. Check out facebook for some pictures of her at the meet, and check out the scoreboard with "USA" next to her name (pretty awesome!). She was the youngest one in her category and the only one to drop time in every event she swam! She placed 3rd, 4th, or 5th in every event she swam, and missed an "Emerging Swimmer" cut by only 2 seconds in the 400 free. An emerging swimmer cut basically means you are in the top 15 in the world (read more about emerging cuts). Note - if you have Meet Mobile on your smartphone you can find the Can-Am meet on that app to see all of Ahalya's times!
Good Luck in Canada Ahalya! 12/4/13
Good luck to Ahalya Lettenberger who heads to Alberta, Canada next week for the 2013 Speedo CAN-AM Para-Swimming Championships. This is her first major international meet and is seen as a great stepping stone meet towards such events as the IPC Swimming World Championships (Glasgow 2015) and (maybe?!) the Paralympic Games (Rio 2016)! We will have a send-off party for Ahalya next Wednesday at practice!

Parents and swimmers please review the Specator Guidlines (on the Practice Info page) for the pools we use. Specifically, Wheaton College asks that we not block the windows on the track, or the north or west sides. These spaces are shared with the college and community and they are to be kept clear. We welcome parents to observe practice from the pool balconies at any time. We also encourage families to join the Sports and Rec Center at Wheaton College, so you can take advantage of the weight room and track.
