Fall / Winter Registration 6/4/09
The Staff is pleased to announce the official opening of Online Registration for the 2009-2010 Fall/Winter swim team.  We have opened up registration a little earlier than last year in order to give families more flexibility in choosing their payment options.  Please click “Join the Team” for full team, practice, and group information and more!  Important dates to remember – June 4, 2009: first day to register.  June 15, 2009: early bird discounts expire.  June 30, 2009: last day returning members’ spot is guaranteed.  Also please note that you can follow the same link to register for any summer programs, including swim lessons, and that we will continue to accept registrations for those events as well!

Ways to Save with Wheaton Swim Club. The staff realizes that this year has been a difficult one for the economy over all and for many of our members.  We have been busy surveying youth sports organizations across the country and surveying our members to come up with ideas which will allow flexibility to you while still providing you with the same great product.  For example, we are opening registration earlier in order to allow you to spread out your fees.  We are also working on other discounts and incentives. This year we are once again providing many discount opportunities. If you register by June 15 for our 2009-10 swim season, you will receive $20 off PER SWIMMER.  If you register by June 30, you will receive $15 off PER FAMILY.  Families who pay in full will also receive an additional 2% off their team fees.  Refer a new member and receive a $5 credit!  These savings can really add up!  We also offer flexible payment plans and multiple payment method options to fit in to your family’s specific situation.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions!

Wheaton Sponsors 2009 Tiger Trot 5/22/09
The coaches are pleased that the team is able to sponsor the 2009 Tiger Trot, a charity fun run which will be held Saturday, May 30. This year's charity was chosen in memory of Caroline Enright, a beloved Wiesbrook Elementary School (in Wheaton) student and friend of many from this year’s fifth grade class who passed away in 2005. To honor Caroline’s active, selfless nature, the Enright family has selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® to be the recipient of this year’s proceeds. We encourage anyone not participating in the PAC Meet that day to participate! The Swim Club will have a booth at the finish line, and also invite any parents or swimmers to help staff it! Check out Full Tiger Trot Details to participate, or see the coaches for a flyer or to help at the booth!

Scholastic All-American Forms 5/14/09
The 2008-09 Scholastic All-American Application is now available on the Illinois Swimming website. We know that there are many Wheaton Swimmers who qualify, and encourage you all to submit the application! Swimmers must be current 10th, 11th, or 12th graders, and meet GPA and Time Standard requirements posted on the application. The deadline is August 1, 2009.

Glenbard High School Swimming 5/6/09
The coaches are excited to learn about the possible expansion of our sport into a new segment of the community. The four Glenbard High Schools a finalizing a proposal to form a co-op high school girls swim team, similar to the Wheaton Co-op team which currently exists in District 200. The final approval will come later this month. We are also pleased that Wheaton Swim Club coaches Chris Delgaldo and Jason Maddux have been asked to be the head coach and assistant coach (respectively) of the new team. Due to the earlier practice times of the new co-op, Chris and Jason will be able to continue in their current capacities with the club, and also help expand our sport! We are proud to note that in addition to these new coaching positions, Wheaton Swim Club also employs a COD College Team Coach (Bob Strube, National), the head Wheaton High School Coach (Jacob Ayers, Gold), the Head and Assistant Glen Ellyn Gators coaches (Kristi Hyosaka, silver, and Lauren Futris, blue and bronze), and the Head Coach of the St Charles Country Club (Patty Bartelt, blue and bronze)! If you have any questions about the Glenbard Co-op please contact Carol Floren.

National Team Flight Update 5/6/09
Note that the coaches flight information has now been posted. Swimmers are welcome to travel on the same flights as the coaches. For the summer meet, however, we do not require all swimmers to travel together, since many of you may wish to leave directly from the meet for your summer vacations. Please review the Sectional Details and Sectional Page before the meeting so we can answer all of your questions.
