Wheaton Home Meet Information 5/2/13
Each season, Wheaton Swim Club hosts one major “home” meet. We use this meet as a great opportunity for our kids to compete, but also as a chance to “showcase” our team. We have a reputation for hosting great meets, with many out of state teams regularly attending, and we know that we can’t do it without our families’ help! We also consider our home meet to be a “fundraiser” for the team, which helps keep fees low for everyone.
This year our home meet is June 14-16, 2013. It is held at UIC, Chicago. All swimmers will be billed for this meet (per team policy posted online), but you will only be entered if you register online to compete. This helps us accurately gauge how many swimmers from other teams we can accept. Since visiting teams will be submitting their entries on May 10, we need all Wheaton swimmers to RSPV by May 6 at 11:59 p.m. You can go to our Meet Info page for full details and to sign up.
We also our parents to help out by volunteering at the meet, and by making a small drink donation. We ask that all families work two sessions of the meet (or two people for one session). If everyone helps out, this will more than cover the slots we need. Each session is about 3-4 hours, and there are many positions which allow you to both help and watch your swimmers. If you have younger (or older!) siblings along with you, there are jobs which can accommodate that as well. You can check out our 3-page volunteer information packet online to get an idea of the different positions. Volunteer registration is also now open on our Home Meets page, and we ask that you volunteer by May 31 to make sure you get your first choice. Families entered in the meet who don’t volunteer online by May 31 will be slotted into the remaining slots. SPECIAL NOTES: If you are swimming with our club in session 2, but not session 3, you may still register for this meet. If you are not swimming with our club in session 3, you will not be billed for this meet. If you are a current orange swimmer, you will not be billed for this meet. You may participate in this meet if you would like, but will need to register with USA Swimming (the coaches will do this for you upon your request). Thanks in advance for all your help! We know we can’t do it without you!

Thank You For Wearing Pink! 10/17/12
We would like to sincerely thank everyone who wore pink caps, pink clothes, or otherwise joined us in the fight against breast cancer last week! We took donations from club swimmers, high school swimmers, college swimmers, and even swimmers from other teams, and raised nearly $1500.00. This money will be given to the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network. You can read more about this great organization at www.mbcn.org. We do still have a handful of pink caps, and you can make a donation of any size at any time and still get a cap. A few pictures from the high school meet and club meet are posted on the Wheaton Swim Club’s facebook page. Thanks again! It was truly an inspiring weekend!

Give a donation and receive a Pink Cap! The Wheaton Swim Club is facilitating fundraising for finding the cure for Breast Cancer. Make any donation and you will receive a pink cap at or prior to the meet, and you don’t have to be in the meet to make a donation or get a cap. Bring your donation to practice this week! Thanks in advance for your support! Mom’s dads and family members don’t forget to wear pink shirts to the meet! The suggested donation is $10-20 – cash or checks to Wheaton Swim Club. Please note that if you ordered Wheaton Swim Club car decals when you registered for the team they are now available in the team office! If you did not order one but would still like one, please swing by the office as well! Note that instead of stickers we ordered magnets (by popular demand). Spectator Reminders11/2/09
Parents and swimmers please review the Specator Guidlines (on the Practice Info page) for the pools we use. Specifically, Wheaton College asks that we not block the windows on the track, or the north or west sides. These spaces are shared with the college and community and they are to be kept clear. We welcome parents to observe practice from the pool balconies at any time. We also encourage families to join the Sports and Rec Center at Wheaton College, so you can take advantage of the weight room and track.
