Congratulations to all swimmers who competed at this weekend's Lake Forest Meet at UIC. Wheaton swimmers had many best times and picked up many new regional and state qualifying times! Special congrats Ethan Chuang, Sophia Harvard, Laurynn Harvard, Logan Sims, Garret Sims, and Cavan Smith, who finished in the Top 3 point scorers in their age groups. PAC and MAVS Meet Registrations Now Open! 5/17/12
Online meet registrations are now open for the PAC "Ozzie Fest" Meet (July 6-8 at Stevenson HS) and the Mavericks Open Water Swim (July 1 at Naperville's Centennial Beach). The PAC Meet is an important meet for ALL SWIMMERS. For many swimmers is it the final meet of the season. For others, it is the "last chance" meet to either achieve championship meet qualifying times, or get in one last meet prior to championship meets. The Mavericks Open Water Swim will feature a 500m, 1000m, and a 1500m open water swim for swimmers 9 and over. While swimmers in any group may participate, we recommend this meet for swimmers in bronze, silver, gold, senior, Junior National, and National. Note that National swimmers must get permission from Bob to attend, due to the taper schedule around that time of the season. We hope to make a great showing at this meet! Please visit the Meet Info page first to get full details on both meets, and then use our Online Meet Registration system to sign up! The deadline to register for BOTH of these meets is May 31, 2012 at 11:59 p.m.
Important Lake Forest Meet Updates 5/15/12
We hope everyone is looking forward to this weekend’s swim meet at UIC hosted by the Lake Forest Swim Club. Remember that there are no practices on Saturday due to the meet. A few very important reminders 1) Allow extra time to get to the meet this weekend, due to the NATO summit being held in Chicago. It looks like the best bet is to take the Eisenhower to Racine and to avoid I-55 and I-90. However, please take some time to see a Chicago Tribune article for maps and closures, and make the best decision on your own. 2)
We have been asked to provide 2 timers for each session of the meet. Timers receive FREE ADMISSION so email the coaching staff today if you can time! First come first serve! 3)
Don’t forget all Wheaton Swimmers are expected to be on deck checked in 20 minutes prior to the start of warm-ups. Note that AM warm-ups are at 7:30 and PM warm-ups are at 12:45. Be there is all your Wheaton apparel! Good luck to all swimmers!

Check out our Fundraising page for newly updated summer fundraising information. This summer we will offer four ways for families to fulfill their commitments: Scrips, Swimathon, Advertisements, and the Action Accents Swim Locker. We will place two Scrip orders - one in May (due date is 5/16) and one in June. Full details on the swim-a-thon and the Swim Locker can be found on our Fundraising page. Full details about advertising can be found there as well, but note that our upcoming Father's Day Meet is a great opportunity to place an ad!
New Swim Meet Added! 5/11/12
We are pleased to announce that a new swim meet has been added to the schedule. We will be entering the first annual Mavericks Open Water Swim which will be held at Centennial Beach in Naperville! The event will be held July 1 and will feature a 500m, 1000m, and a 1500m open water swim for swimmers 9 and over. While swimmers in any group may participate, we recommend this meet for swimmers in bronze, silver, gold, senior, Junior National, and National. Note that National swimmers must get permission from Bob to attend, due to the taper schedule around that time of the season. We hope to make a great showing at this meet! Details are now posted on the Meet Info page, and online registration will open shortly.
Important Home Meet Entry Update 5/10/12
A list of participating swimmers in our Home Meet (June 15-17, 2012) is now posted on the Meet Info page (or you can link to it directly here). IMPORTANT: Tomorrow morning, we will begin accepting entries from other teams. We use the list of participants from our team to calculate how many visiting teams can be accepted. This meet traditionally fills very quickly, so after tomorrow, we may or may not be able to add more swimmers, even from our own team. Remember that, although all session 3 swimmers will be billed for this meet, only those swimmers who sign up will be entered. If you would like to be added to the meet, please email us by the end of the day today!
St Charles Meet Results Now Posted 5/9/12
Congratulations to all Wheaton Swimmers who competed this weekend at the St Charles Pentathlon! It was a great way to start the season, with many swimmers achieving life time bests, and many swimmers finishing in the top 6 in their age groups in the over-all pentathlon category. Special congrats to Lindsay Mathys who set a new team record in the 11-12 girls LC 50 free (29.11). Special congrats also to those swimmers who finished "in the trophies" (top 6) in overall pentathlon time: Andrew Oltmanns, JT Nielson, Delaney Smith, Todd Hutchinson, Gage Ridinger, Lindsay Mathys, JP McAveeney, Emily Chuang, Michael Hsu, Connie Hsu, and Brendan Howley. Team results, full results, and record breakers are now posted on our Meet Results page!
Welcome to Session Two! 5/7/12
The second session of our spring/summer season begins today! Please remember to check the Team Calendar for all practices. (The schedule for session two is modified a bit from session one). If you are new beginning today, we look forward to meeting you! New parents and swimmers please introduce yourselves to the coaching staff! Please remember you must be registered online using our Online Team Registration system before you can begin practicing. This includes orange group (competitive lessons) swimmers who may be doing another session of Orange, or else moving up to Blue. Let us know if you have any questions!
Car Decals Are Here! 5/1/12
Please note that if you ordered Wheaton Swim Club car decals when you registered for the team they are now available in the team office! If you did not order one but would still like one, please swing by the office as well! Note that instead of stickers we ordered magnets (by popular demand). This makes them easily transferrable from one car to another and will not ruin a pain job or block your view out the window!
Apparel and Silicone Cap Update 5/1/12
We now have a large enough number of silicone cap requests to place a summer order this year! If you ordered your cap through our online team registration, your name has been added to the Order List. (Go to our Team Caps page for full details). If not, you can email the coaches to be added to the list. Please note that everyone on the order list should review the quanity of caps requested (minimum two) and the name you would like on the cap. If we do not hear from you, then the name on the cap will be the family last name as it appears on this document. The deadline to submit changes is May 15. At that time we will place the order. Don't forget that Wheaton Swim Club apparel is available online year round on our Team Apparel page!
Important Practice Updates 4/30/12
As many of you know, Wheaton College will be undergoing some renovations beginning next week. Improvements will be made to the filtration system, locker rooms, underground plumbing, acoustics, timing system wiring, and more! We are excited for the renovations are looking forward to seeing the completed work! Most of our practices this spring and summer will be accommodated by the pool at COD. However, the coaches have been working hard to secure extra pool time which will maximize our swimmers’ practice time this spring and summer. We are pleased to announce that we will be renting the Downers Grove South High School Pool for our National Team a few dates this spring. This will allow the Junior National team to add a day of practice per week in session 2. The Gold and Senior groups will also have some slight modifications made to their session 2 schedules due to this switch. These changes are now posted on our online Team Calendar. The basic schedule posted on the Practice Info page has also now been updated. If you have any questions about these changes, feel free to email the coaches. Our Maps and Directions page has now been updated with directions to DGS. We will also be sending out some specific usage guidelines for parents and swimmers (such as where to park, where to change, etc). We are looking forward to using this great facility! SPECIAL NOTE: All families have been emailed a more legthy description of our basic plans for this summer and next fall / winter. Please check your inboxes and take some time to read it. As always, let us know if you have any questions!

Summer Sectional Meet Information 4/19/12

This is one of the penultimate events for swimmers on our team to attend, and we hope each swimmer in the national group has the goal to attend this meet. Spring/Summer Registration Now Open! 2/2/12
The coaches are pleased to announce the official opening of Online Registration for the upcoming Spring/Summer season! We are looking forward to another great season, and hope to see all our current members participate in at least one of our three spring/summer sessions. Session 1 will run April 3 through May 5. Session 2 will run May 6 through June 6. Session 3 will run June 7 through July 28. We know that many of you, especially our younger swimmers, participate in your local neighborhood or park district swim teams, and we want to encourage you do keep doing so! When your friends see how much you have improved from last summer, that is just great advertising for us! That is why we have a) designed our practice schedule to conflict as little as possible with these events (many swimmers do both teams in the summer) and b) designed the 3-session format (many swimmers also do a combination of sessions 1,2, and 3, or the discounted Full Season). There are many updates this season which we would like to inform you about. Please check your inboxes for a detailed email about registration, and email the coaches if you have ANY questions at all. Ready to register? Click "Join the Team" above and select "Spring/Summer 2012." The process will be very quick for returning members, since most of the information will be stored already from last season!
Spring / Summer Registration Information 1/26/12
As usual, we will be posting our Spring / Summer Registration information near the end of January. We are looking forward to another great season, and hope you all will join us for the upcoming sessions. One great thing about our Spring/Summer is that we offer three sessions - Spring I (April), Spring II (May), and Summer (June/July). These dates are coordinated around the release of school, and spring and summer sports, and are designed to accommodate your busy schedules, and swimmers can register for any combination of the three sessions (with a discount for registering for all three). Many Wheaton Swimmers (especially orange, blue, bronze, silver, and gold groups) participate in both their park district teams, and the Wheaton Swim Club each summer! We hope that tradition continues. As always, many swimmers will be moving to a new group between seasons. We will be contacting those swimmers soon! However, because swimmers continue to improve throughout the season, you may wish to register for the upcoming season prior to us making a final determination. If this is the case, simply register for the group you are currently in, and we will adjust your account later. Watch your inboxes and the website for practice schedules and full registration details!!!

Parents and swimmers please review the Specator Guidlines (on the Practice Info page) for the pools we use. Specifically, Wheaton College asks that we not block the windows on the track, or the north or west sides. These spaces are shared with the college and community and they are to be kept clear. We welcome parents to observe practice from the pool balconies at any time. We also encourage families to join the Sports and Rec Center at Wheaton College, so you can take advantage of the weight room and track.
