Eight Wheaton Swimmers participated in the annual Glen Ellyn cardboard boat regatta, and advanced to the second round. (Sadly, the boat sank before the Final Round, but no crew members were lost). Boats are made completely of cardboard, and all team members sit in the boat while paddling. This boat was named "iPaddle" and was in the shape of a giant iPad. Paddlers included Kelsey Ostwowski, Theo Laleian, Alex Laleian, Bryce Dibadj, Ben Shaver, Martin Pozniak, Brendan Howley, and David Wullfe. Go to our webcasts page or click the link to the left to watch the Wheaton Swim Club iPaddle's maiden voyage (and her untimely demise).

What's Coming and What's New 5/28/10
With spring winding down, the coaches have already nearly finalized team information for next fall and winter. We are excited about a few new features we will be bringing you this year. One is the ability to send text messages to team members. This will be especially helpful during the winter if we need to make a last minute practice change due to weather. Second is a streamlined online meet entry process which we have worked with the Active Network to produce. And third is the differentiation of our National High School and Senior High School groups into Boys and Girls registration groups. This will allow for more accurately targeted communications with our team members, and adjusted fee structures based on the number of weeks each group swims each year. Watch for full details soon, as we will open up registration on or before June 1, 2010!

Spectator Reminders11/2/09
Parents and swimmers please review the Specator Guidlines (on the Practice Info page) for the pools we use. Specifically, Wheaton College asks that we not block the windows on the track, or the north or west sides. These spaces are shared with the college and community and they are to be kept clear. We welcome parents to observe practice from the pool balconies at any time. We also encourage families to join the Sports and Rec Center at Wheaton College, so you can take advantage of the weight room and track.
