The staff will post a final decision to go ahead or to cancel a practice 1 hour and 30 minutes before the start of each practice. All updates will be posted on the front page of our website so please make a final check before leaving the house. As always the Chicago weather can be unpredictable and some of storms can turn manageable roads into dangerous road conditions in less than an hour. The staff and facilities try to take into account not only the drive to practice but also attempt to anticipate our families drive home after a scheduled practice.
Please check the team website before you leave for practice this afternoon so that you can receive up to the minute updates concerning practice facility closings or practice cancellations. As always please use your best judgment when making a decision about attending practice when a winter storm warning is issued.
The Wheaton Swim Club considers the following before canceling a team practice.
1. College/Facility closing or likelihood that it will close during a scheduled practice.
2. The level of risk on the roadways.
3. The ability of staff to make it to our facilities.
4. Drive times from our service communities including the drive home after practice.
5. The staff uses the same media outlets that you do when following the weather and trying to predict the weather (radio, tv and internet).
